Abstract:Objective To understand the health literacy level of rural residents and its influencing factors in Xuzhou City in 2022, so as to provide scientific evidence for improving the health literacy level of rural residents and taking effective health interventions. Methods A multi-stage stratified PPS random sampling method was used to survey residents aged 15-69 in rural areas of Xuzhou City by using the “2022 National Resident Health Literacy Questionnaire”. The health literacy levels were analyzed by a chi-square test single-factor analysis. Results In 2022, the health literacy level of rural residents in Xuzhou was 22.20%, and their gender (χ2=5.109, P=0.024), age (χ2=98.526, P<0.001), education level (χ2=147.779, P<0.001), per capita household income (χ2=73.335, P<0.001), occupation (χ2=59.407, P<0.001), and self-rated health status (χ2=82.590, P<0.001) had impacts on the health literacy level of residents, and the differences were statistically significant. Conclusion The health literacy level of rural residents in Xuzhou City is at a low level, and targeted health education interventions should be carried out for them.
