Abstract:Objective To analyze the monitoring results of urban and rural drinking water quality and the relevant factors affecting water quality in Anyuan District in 2020, so as to provide scientific evidence for the management of drinking water safety of urban and rural residents. Methods A total of 96 water samples from rural and urban areas were collected during the flood season and the dry period from the last ten-day of May to the end of October 2020, and the water qualities of the collected water samples were monitored. The monitoring results of urban and rural drinking water quality and the relevant factors affecting water quality were statistically analyzed in Anyuan District in 2020. Results A total of 84 water samples were collected from 42 agricultural drinking water collection points, while 12 water samples were collected from 6 urban drinking water collection points. The test results showed that the total pass rate of drinking water quality testing in urban areas was 100% (12/12), and the total pass rate of drinking water quality testing in rural areas was 80.95% (68/84). There was no significant difference in the total pass rates of drinking water quality testing between urban areas and rural areas (χ2=1.543, P=0.214). The pass rates of factory water, terminal water, and secondary water supply in urban areas were all 100%, while the pass rate of factory water was 100%, but the pass rate of terminal water was 66.67% (32/48) in rural areas. During the flood period and dry period, the pass rates of factory water, terminal water, and secondary water supply were all 100% in urban areas. The pass rates of factory water in rural areas in the flood period and dry period were both 100%, but the pass rate of terminal water in the flood period was 33.33% (8/24), which was statistically different compared with that in the dry period (χ2=7.35, P=0.007). During the flood season, among the 31 detection indexes of rural drinking water, except for nitrate (95.83%), total coliform bacteria (37.5%), and free chlorine (37.5%), the pass rates of other indicators were 100%. During the dry period, the pass rates of 31 indicators of rural drinking water were all 100%. Conclusion In 2020, the quality of urban and rural drinking water in Anyuan District is generally good, and free chlorine deficiency and microbial contamination are the main influencing factors of unqualified drinking water quality in rural areas, so it is necessary to strengthen the daily monitoring and management of rural drinking water.
