Abstract:Objective To analyze the levels of vitamin D and trace elements in serum of pregnant women in early and second trimester of pregnancy. Methods The clinical data of 421 pregnant women who underwent antenatal examination in a maternal and child health care center from February 2016 to November 2017 were collected and analyzed retrospectively. There were 271 pregnant women in the early pregnancy group and 150 pregnant women in the second trimester of pregnancy group. The serum level of 25-hydroxyvitamin D was measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and the contents of trace elements in serum were detected by the automatic biochemical analyzer. The levels of vitamin D and trace elements, and the intake of vitamin D were compared between two groups. Results In the early pregnancy group, the average level of vitamin D was (27.57±6.23) nmol/L and the average level of calcium was (1.62±0.18) nmol/L, which were lower than those in the second trimester of pregnancy group ; in the early pregnancy group, the average level of magnesium was (1.49±0.25)nmol/L and the average level of ferrum was (7.87±0.37) nmol/L, which were higher than those in the second trimester of pregnancy group , and there were significant differences between two groups (all P<0.05). In the early pregnancy group, the vitamin D deficiency rate was 24.72%, which was higher than that in the second trimester of pregnancy group (15.33%); the rate of insufficient vitamin D intake in the second trimester of pregnancy group was 70.00%, which was higher than that in the early pregnancy group, and there was a significant difference between two groups (P<0.05). Conclusion Compared with the pregnant women in the second trimester of pregnancy, the vitamin D deficiency is more serious in the early pregnant women, but the level of trace elements is at basically the same.
