Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression of 25-hydroxyvitamin D in children with atopic dermatitis and its correlation with disease severity. Methods The clinical data of 80 atopic dermatitis children in a hospital from January 2017 to January 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. The level of serum 25(OH)D, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP), and total iron binding capacity (TIBC) were detected; the data including the age, gender, outdoor activities, and fruit intake were recorded. Then, the correlation between the 25(OH)D expression and disease severity was analyzed. Results Among the 80 children with atopic dermatitis, the normal, insufficient, and deficient 25(OH)D expression rates were 22.50% (18 cases), 32.50% (26 cases), and 45% (36 cases), respectively. The proportions of the normal, insufficient and deficient had no significant difference in the patients with different genders (P>0.05), but 25(OH)D, hsCRP, TIBC, outdoor activities, and fruit intake had significant differences (P<0.05). The level of 25(OH)D was positively correlated with the outdoor activities and fruit intake, and negatively correlated with hsCRP and TIBC. The multiple linear regression analysis showed that the fruit intake, hsCRP, TIBC and 25(OH)D were independent factors. Conclusion The outdoor activities and fruit intake can promote the expression of 25(OH)D, and therefore, the related authorities should promote the outdoor activities and fruit intake of the children, so as to clinically control the inflammation of the children with atopic dermatitis.
