Abstract:Objective To analyze the prevalence of hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia and the dynamic change of the control rates of hypertension and diabetes among the staff of two universities in Xiangtan City from 2018 to 2020. Methods The health examination data (blood pressure, blood glucose, and blood lipid) of health examination of staff in two universities in Xiangtan City from 2018 to 2020 were collected and analyzed retrospectively, to understand the prevalence, control rate, co-morbidity and trends of hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia of the staff. Results Among 14 062 subjects, the prevalence of hypertension, diabetes and dyslipidemia were 33.2%, 9.8% and 35.0% respectively, and the control rates of hypertension and diabetes were 12.2% and 9.0% respectively. The prevalence rates of hypertension and diabetes increased with age (χ2HP=2 654.010, χ2D=1 074.664, P<0.05), and the control rates of hypertension and diabetes also increased with age (χ2HP=2 654.010, χ2D=1 074.664, P<0.05). The prevalence rates of hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia in men were higher than those in women (all P<0.05). From 2018 to 2020, the prevalence rates of diabetes and dyslipidemia were on the rise, and the control rate of diabetes was on the decline (χ2D=24.077, χ2Dys=9.036, P<0.05, χ2D control=9.737, P<0.05). The prevalence rates of one, two, and three chronic diseases were 54.1%, 20.5%, and 3.4%, respectively, and the overall trend was on the rise from 2018 to 2020 (χ21-type=6.493, χ2Double=12.141, χ2Triple=13.195, P<0.05), the co-morbidity rate of hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia showed an upward trend (χ2HP&D=12.335, χ2 D&Dys=20.046, P<0.05). Conclusion The prevalence rates of hypertension, diabetes and dyslipidemia among college staff in Xiangtan City are high and increased year by year, with low control rates.
