Objective To explore the clinical effect of phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation in the treatment of uveitis complicated with cataract. Methods A total of 92 cases (92 eyes) of uveitis complicated with cataract were selected from January 2017 to March 2019 and they were divided into a control group (n=46) and a trial group (n=46) according to the randomized controlled principle. In the control group, the conventional small-incision extracapsular cataract extraction combined with intraocular lens implantation was performed and in the trial group, the phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation was performed. The vision, inflammatory cell counts, and post-operation complications of two groups were investigated. Results In the control group, the average visual acuity was (0.59±0.08) and the average visual acuity in 3 months was (0.87±0.12), which were lower than those in the trial group , and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). In the control group, the average inflammatory cell counts were (20.67±8.36)/0.5 mm3, and the average inflammatory cell counts in 1 month were (8.68±4.36)/0.5 mm3, which were higher than those in the trial group (both P<0.05). The incidence of post-operation complications in the trial group was 4.35%, which was lower than that in the control group (21.74%, P<0.05). Conclusion The phacoemulsification and intraocular lens implantation is effective and safe in the treatment of cataract with uveitis, and it can improve the visual acuity and reduce post-operation complications.
