Objective To explore the application effect of nurse-patient communication skills combined with psychological nursing in psychiatric patients undergoing ultrasound examinations. Methods A total of 64 patients with mental disorders who underwent ultrasound examinations were selected as objects in a hospital from February 2016 to June 2019.The patients were divided into a trial group (n=32) and a control group (n=32) by the random number table method. The patients in the control group were intervened by the routine nursing mode, and on this basis, the patients in the trial group were given the nursing-patient communication skills combined with psychological nursing. The effects of the nursing interventions were compared between the two groups. Results After the intervention, the average mental state scores of the trial group was (38.11±4.16), which was significantly lower than that of the control group (52.05±5.92), (P<0.05). The average scores of adaptability degree (87.83±6.10) and safety scores (90.48±5.47) in the trial group were significantly higher than those in the control group (74.29±5.45, 76.66±4.42), (both P<0.05). The success rate of one-time examination (87.5%) of the trial group was significantly higher than that of the control group (68.75%), (P<0.05). Conclusion The nurse-patient communication skills combined with psychological nursing can effectively improve the mental state of psychiatric patients during ultrasound examinations, improve their examination coordination, ensure their safety, shorten the examination time, and improve the success rate of one-time examination. The intervention effect is good and it is worth recommending.
