Objective To explore the best strategy of controlling hepatitis A, so as to reduce the incidence of hep-atitis A in Zhanjiang agricultural reclamation area. Methods The data of the incidence of hepatitis A and hepatitis A vaccination were collected and analyzed with the descriptive epidemiology method in Zhanjiang agricultural reclamation area from 2013 to 2015. Results The hepatitis A vaccination rate increased from 98.9% in 2013 to 100% in 2015, and the reported incidence of hepatitis A decreased from 10/104 in 2013 to 2.9/104 in 2015, with the decline rate of 71% in Zhanjiang agricultural reclamation area. Conclusion The strategy of expanding the hepatitis A vaccine immunization to improve the level of population immunity is better than the former strategy of the comprehensive preventive measures based on cutting off the route of hepatitis A transmission.
