Abstract:Objective To explore the status quo of subjective well-being, academic achievement and their relationship in pharmaceutical adult education undergraduates of a certain university. Methods In April 2022, a convenient sampling method was used to select 145 adult education pharmacy major college students from Capital Medical University. The survey subjects were sent an online questionnaire using Index of Well-Being Scale (IWB) and the Academic Achievement Scale through an online questionnaire star. Results The total subjective well-being score of students in this survey was (9.42±2.13) points, and the total academic achievement score was (68.12±7.79) points. There was no statistically significant difference in subjective well-being, total academic achievement scores, and various dimensions among students of different genders and grades (P>0.05). The communication ability dimension in academic achievement of students with 5-<10 years of work experience was significantly higher than that of students under 5 years. There was a positive correlation between subjective well-being and academic achievement among adult education pharmacy major college students, as well as their various dimensions (r=0.18-0.34, P<0.01). The four dimensions of academic achievement: learning cognitive ability, communication ability, self-management ability, and interpersonal facilitation ability all had a significant predictive effect on subjective well-being. Conclusions The subjective well-being and academic achievement of 145 adult education pharmacy majors in a certain university are both at a moderate level, and the two are closely related. In order to enhance students’ subjective well-being, efforts should be made to pay attention to and improve their academic achievements, and comprehensively cultivate students’ learning cognitive ability, communication ability, self-management ability, and interpersonal promotion ability.
