Abstract:Objective To investigate the current status of e-health literacy among women of childbearing age in communities, and to explore the factors affecting the e-health literacy of women of childbearing age in the communities. Methods A convenience sampling method was used to select women of childbearing age in two communities in Changzhi City to carry out the survey, and the electronic health literacy scale (eHEALS) was used to conduct an online questionnaire survey on women of childbearing age aged 18-50 in the communities. Univariate and multiple linear regression analyses were used to analyze the relationship between these factors and the e-health literacy of women of childbearing age in the communities. Results The total score of e-health literacy of 217 community women of childbearing age was 26.5 (SD=6.298), and the pass rate was 23.5%. The number of online tools to obtain Internet health information was different (F=3.414, P=0.018), the number of channels to obtain Internet health information was different (F=3.327, P=0.021), the frequency of online health information inquiry was different (F=3.244, P=0.023), the degrees of concern about personal privacy disclosure was different (F=7.092, P<0.001), and the reliability of online health information was different (F=5.667, P=0.001) and they had impacts on the level of e-health literacy of women of childbearing age in these communities and these differences were statistically significant. The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that the degree of concern about the disclosure of personal privacy by searching for health-related information on the Internet (β=-0.229, t=-3.42, P<0.001) and the number of Internet tools to obtain Internet health information (β=0.170, t=2.628, P=0.009), the reliability of online health information (β=0.150, t=2.214, P=0.028) were significant predictor of the e-health literacy level of women of childbearing age in the communities, which could explain the change of e-health literacy level of 12.8% of women of childbearing age in the communities. Conclusion The use of Internet health information should be considered when carrying out e-health literacy interventions for women of childbearing age in communities.
