Abstract:Objective To explore the oral health related knowledge awareness and evaluate the effect of health education intervention among primary school students in Zhangjiagang City, so as to provide the evidence for improving the further health education model and strategy. Methods The questionnaire provided by the comprehensive intervention projects for the national children's oral diseases affiliated with the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association was used for the investigation among more than 1 300 3rd-grade students from 6 schools randomly selected from all the schools carrying out the comprehensive intervention program for children's oral diseases by the cluster sampling method. Results After the health education, the awareness rate of oral health knowledge of the students was significantly higher than that before the healthy education, with an increase range of 3.35%-34.37%. Conclusion After the health education, the awareness rate of oral health knowledge increases significantly compared with that before the intervention among the primary school students in Zhangjiagang City, indicating the health education model is effective.
