Abstract:Objective To analyze the effect of group psychological intervention on medication compliance, disease control, and social function in patients with schizophrenia. Methods A total of 82 patients with schizophrenia admitted to our hospital from January 2020 to March 2022 were enrolled and divided into a trial group and a control group by the random number table method. The control group used usual care, and the trial group used group psychological intervention on the basis of the control group. Results The medication adherence rate in the trial group was 97.56%, higher than that of the control group: 80.49% (χ2=4.493, P<0.05). After 3 months of intervention, the PANSS score and RSES score in the trial group were (36.21±1.56) and (33.26±2.11) respectively, which were superior to those in the control group: (47.21±2.84) and (30.05±1.87) (P<0.01). The scores of ADL (10.03±0.87), communication and initiative (13.21±1.19), and social skills (12.98±1.12) in the trial group were higher than those in the control group: (9.11±0.76), (11.85±1.07) and (11.15±1.05) (all P<0.05). The WMS and MoCA scores of the trial group were (22.31±2.03) and (24.21±1.96) respectively, which were higher than those of the control group: (19.54±1.88) and (21.05±1.89) (P<0.01). Conclusions The group psychological intervention applied to patients with schizophrenia can improve medication compliance, control the disease progression, enhance self-esteem, and improve social function and memory cognitive function.
