Abstract:Objective To investigate and analyze the knowledge of AIDS/HIV among freshmen in a university in Heze City, their attitude towards AIDS/HIV patients and their health education needs, so as to explore a more efficient education model. Methods The freshmen of grade 2019 in a comprehensive university of Heze City were selected as the survey objects, the questionnaire was designed on the platform of Questionnaire Star, and the anonymous questionnaire survey was conducted by cluster random sampling method. Results The cognitive level of AIDS prevention and control knowledge was relatively poor, and the average awareness rate was 76.07%. The average awareness rate of girls was 73.22% and the rate of boys was 81. 80%, and the latter was higher than the former (χ2=32.182, P=0.000). The awareness rates of mother to child transmission and blood transmission were 89.07% and 98.83% respectively, and the awareness rate of sexual transmission was 97.29%, and the relative knowledge was good. The awareness rates of "swimming together in public swimming pool" and "mosquito bites" were only 71.89% and 37.92% respectively, and the awareness of non-transmission route was poor. Totally 60.13% of the freshmen who exposed to AIDS said they would be nervous, and 98.25% of the freshmen believed that it was necessary to popularize the knowledge of AIDS prevention and control among college students. Conclusion The awareness rate of AIDS prevention and control knowledge among freshmen is low, and therefore, the AIDS health education needs to be strengthened to improve college students‘ cognitive level and self-protection awareness.
