Abstract:Objective To explore the impact on the qualified rate of physical examinations and enrollment quality by analyzing two groups of pilot students’ physical examination data before and after the revision of the admission standards, so as to provide the evidence for improving the medical selection standards. Methods The data of two groups of pilot students' physical examinations (4 604 cases in 2016-2017 and 4 483 cases in 2017-2018) were collected and analyzed for the qualified rates of surgery, ophthalmology, internal medicine, and otolaryngology before and after the revision of admissions by chi-square test. Results After the new standard was implemented, the qualified rate of physical examinations increased from 37.36% to 40.56%, the differences between the ophthalmology, surgery and total pass rates were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion The new admission standards improve the qualified rate of physical examinations and enrollment quality.
