Abstract:Since hand-foot-and-mouth disease (HFMD) was included in China’s statutory infectious disease surveillance system in May 2008, and its incidence has ranked first among Category-C infectious diseases, becoming a serious public health problem in China. Considering the seasonality of HFMD, experts and scholars in the field of environmental epidemiology at home and abroad have studied the relationship between meteorological factors and the incidence of HFMD through a variety of research methods. This paper focuses on the commonly used research methods in this field, and reviews the characteristics of each method and the current research results, in order to provide references for future research and prevention and control work.
