Abstract:Objective To analyze the occurrence characteristics of suspected adverse events following immunization (AEFI) in Sheyang County from 2018 to 2022, and to evaluate the operation of the AEFI surveillance system. Methods Descriptive epidemiology, Excel, and SPSS software were used to analyze the monitoring reports and influencing factors of AEFI. Results A total of 841 AEFI cases were reported in Sheyang County from 2018 to 2022, and the reported incidence rate each year was statistically significantly different (χ2=13.113, P=0.011). Among the 841 cases, the main reactions were general reactions, accounting for 95.71%, and the age was mainly concentrated in children under 4 years old and people over 50 years old. The top three vaccines reported were the diphtheria-pertussis (acellular) vaccine, the COVID-19 vaccine, and the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine. Conclusion The AEFI monitoring system in Sheyang County is working well, and the staff training will be further strengthened in the future, and the system information will be analyzed regularly to improve the monitoring sensitivity.
