Abstract:Objective To investigate the feasibility of using a single incision gastrocnemius aponeurosis sliding operation in the treatment of chronic refractory heel pain. Methods A retrospective analysis was made of 11 patients with chronic refractory heel pain, including 8 females and 3 males, aged 40-72 years, with an average of 56.3 years. All kinds of conservative treatment were performed before the operation. The course of treatment was more than 6 months and the longest course was 13 months. A single incision gastrocnemius aponeurosis sliding operation was used to treat chronic stubborn heel pain. The functional exercise was performed on the day of operation. Results The pain of the heel was relieved significantly. The patient's walk was basically normal one month after the operation. All the 11 patients were followed up and the effect was obvious. The preoperative VAS scores were 4-6 points in 9 cases and 7-10 points in 2 cases but after the operation, the VAS scores were all below 3 points. Conclusion The single incision gastrocnemius aponeurosis sliding operation in the treatment of chronic refractory heel pain is simple and exactly effective, and it is worthy of popularizing.
